Notice to Simpsonville Residents

The City of Simpsonville will no longer pick up loose grass clippings. All grass clippings must be placed in sealed plastic bags. These bags can be placed in your garbage can along with your garbage.  We will still pickup piles of brush, loose leaves and junk. 

 

     

Basic Rules to Follow    

1.  Keep items to be collected away from anything which might obstruct collection access.     

  • telephone poles
  • mailboxes
  • flower beds
  • trees, etc.
  • do not park vehicles in front of items to be collected

2.  All garbage must be placed in an approved garbage can.

3.  Place all items on the CURB LINE, the area nearest the curb, not in the street or sidewalk.

4.  Under no circumstances is construction debris (cabinets, windows, doors, lumber, brick, blocks,etc.) picked up by the City curb side. Go to DEBRIS/LARGE ITEMS for details on how to dispose of these materials. 

5.  Yard waste, yard debris or leaves should NOT be placed on the curb in cardboard boxes. 

6. DO NOT place collection material on top of or near the opening of a drainage catch basin. Never place materials in a drainage ditch.  

7. Go to the Trash Collection tab page for further information on collection of trash, yard waste, leaves, tree limbs, and Christmas Tree recycling.

8.  To request the pickup of appliances, yard waste, construction debris, etc., click HERE to enter your service request.

    City Alert Message

    Simpsonville Department of Public Works employees will be clearing off-road sanitary sewer easements throughout the City.  This only affects properties with a Simpsonville sanitary sewer line crossing them.

     The county landfill no longer accepts ELECTRONIC SCRAP (computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, computer peripherals, fax machines, VCRs, stereos, phone-all kinds, consumer electronics and televisions).  Such items must be brought to Public Works at 110 Woodside Park Drive, Simpsonville for proper disposal.  Televisions 50" and larger diagonally can be picked up curbside by request.  Click on this LINK for further information.

    Curbside recycling has resumed in the City of Simpsonville.  To participate in recycling, you must register at City Hall or complete the on-line registration form (accessed under the Recycling tab).  There is a one-time registration fee of $25 that covers the cost of your new 96-gallon recycling roll-cart.  Collections will be made each week on your regular garbage collection day except for holidays.     All garbage, brush, leaves, grass clippings, junk, and debris items must be placed curbside by 7:00 am on your normal garbage collection day so it may be collected in a timely manner.  Click on this LINK for further information.
