Garbage Collection

Ace Environmental now contracts with the City to collect residential, mobile home, duplex apartments and businesses within the core central business district garbage and recycling.

Basic Rules to Follow (cont'd)

Collection Schedule:

Garbage is collected each week on your regular garbage collection day except on holidays.  Ace will observe the following holidays in 2017:  Memorial Day, Independance Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On these weeks, garbage will be collected one day later than normal, i.e. if your garbage is normally collected on Thursday, it will be collected on Friday, if it is normally collected on Friday, it will be collected on Saturday.

Roll-A-Waste Containers:

  • Ace will provide and collect one garbage container and one recycling container per residence per week at no cost. Additional containers are available for a monthly collection fee.  To obtain an additional container, residents must contract with Ace to arrange collection and payment. There is a charge of $36 annually for additional containers.
  • To obtain a roll-a-waste cart, contact Ace Environmental at (864) 877-0505.
  • The containers belong to the hauler.  You are responsible for basic care of your container.
  • All new containers provided by the hauler have a 10-year warranty. If the cart becomes damaged due to a defect in materials or workmanship, looses a wheel(s) or lid hinge pin, the roll cart can be repaired or replaced at no charge during the warranty period.  Contact Ace Environmental at (864) 877-0505 for replacement or repair of a container under warranty.
  • NOTE: Ace will not collect garbage that is left beside the garbage container.  If you have more garbage than one container will hold, you need to request an additional container at an annual cost of $36.
  • NOTE: Ace will not collect cardboard left beside the garbage container unless there is a recycle container. To obtain a recycle container, contact Ace.

Guidelines for containers:

  • Keep container(s) away from anything which might obstruct collection access (telephone poles, mailboxes, flower beds, trees, etc.)
  • Do NOT park vehicles in front of containers to be collected.
  • Place container(s) on the CURB LINE, the area nearest the curb, not in the street or on the sidewalk.
  • Always keep the lid closed to keep out water.  (Health Department Regulation).
  • To prevent odor and insect infestation, please wash out the container periodically.
  • Never put rocks, leaves, pine needles, grass clippings, waste oil, building materials, tires, or lead acid batteries into your container.
  • Note the serial number of your container so you can provide this to the Police Department at 967-9536 if the can becomes lost or stolen.
